This website is a statically served marketing site with no user accounts, comment features, or contact forms. It sets no cookies and stores no identifiers in your browser (e.g. localStorage). The typefaces used (Archivo, Inter) are served from our own servers – no connection is made to Google Fonts or any other font service.

When pages are accessed, the web server automatically stores access logs containing the IP address, date and time of the request, URL accessed, browser, and operating system. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for the purpose of secure and stable operation of the website. Log data is deleted automatically after at most 14 days.

To understand which pages are visited, we use cookieless page-view statistics with PostHog (PostHog EU, data processed in the European Union). Only aggregate page views are recorded: no cookies, no identifiers in browser storage, no cross-site tracking, and no personal profiles. The measurement respects your browser's "Do Not Track" setting. Because no personal profiles are created and nothing is stored on your device, no consent is required – which is why this website does not show a cookie banner. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in statistical analysis of website usage).

We use the following service providers to operate the website and the Berta app:

• Replit, Inc. (USA) – hosting of the website, server infrastructure, database, and the object storage used for uploaded photos and receipts. EU standard contractual clauses are in place.
• Clerk, Inc. (USA) – user accounts and sign-in for the Berta app (email address, sign-in data).
• Replit AI Integrations / Anthropic (USA) – AI-supported extraction of data from photographed receipts and documents in the app. The request is routed through Replit's AI integration interface, which forwards it to Anthropic's language model. Photos are transmitted only with the consent you grant in the app (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and are not used to train AI models.
• Postmark (ActiveCampaign, USA) – delivery of transactional emails (e.g. the monthly summary, reminders).
• PostHog EU (data stored in the EU) – optional, opt-out app usage statistics (only with consent, containing no personal content) and the cookieless page-view statistics of this website (see section 4).
• Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) – technical error reports from the app, containing no personal content.
• RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) – processing of subscriptions and in-app purchases in the Berta app (user identifier plus purchase and subscription data).
• Tankerkönig / MTS-K (Germany) – retrieval of current fuel prices in the app. To search nearby stations, your postal code is first converted into coordinates via the geocoding service Zippopotam.us. No further personal data is transmitted.

Where providers are located outside the EU, transfers are based on adequacy decisions (e.g. the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or EU standard contractual clauses.

While the Berta app is not yet available in the app stores, you can enter your email address on this website to be notified once, at launch.

Data stored: your email address, the language you chose (de/en), the status (unconfirmed/confirmed), and the timestamps of signup and confirmation. To prevent abuse we additionally store a cryptographic hash of your IP address and of the submitted email address (never the addresses themselves) for at most 24 hours, in order to limit the number of signups per sender and repeated confirmation emails to the same address.

Procedure: we use double opt-in. After signing up you receive an email with a confirmation link; only after you click that link is your address considered confirmed and eligible for the launch notification.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), given by submitting the form and completing the confirmation.

Purpose: exclusively a single email announcing the launch of the Berta app. No newsletter, no third-party advertising, and your address is never shared. Delivery is handled by the email provider Postmark (Wildbit LLC), which processes your address solely on our instructions.

Retention: your address is stored until you withdraw consent, and at the latest until 30 days after the launch notification is sent, after which it is deleted. Unconfirmed signups are deleted after 30 days at the latest.

Withdrawal: you can withdraw your consent at any time and without giving reasons – via the unsubscribe link in every email (including the confirmation email) or by writing to contact@berta.app. Withdrawing deletes your address entirely.

Our website contains links to external services (App Store, Google Play). Once you click those links, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply. We have no influence over their data processing.

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). In the Berta app you can export all your data as a ZIP archive or delete your account entirely at any time under "Settings". You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The Berta app itself (iOS/Android) processes vehicle data you enter or photograph. Your data is stored encrypted in the EU. AI processing of photos and anonymous usage statistics can be switched on and off at any time in the app under "Settings → Account & privacy", where you will also find the data export and account deletion.
