In Berta you manage your tire sets with all the key details: season, size, brand, DOT code and status – whether it's a four-tire car, a two-tire motorcycle or a camper. Use the sidewall scan to read size, brand and DOT code straight off the tire – so you get your tire overview quickly and with little typing.
What data can I record for a tire set?
Per tire set you record:
- Season – summer, winter or all-season.
- Size – the tire dimension from the sidewall.
- Brand – the manufacturer.
- DOT code – for identifying the tire's age.
- Status – the current condition of the set.
That way you see at a glance which tires you have and when a swap or replacement is due.
What does the sidewall scan read out?
When you photograph the tire sidewall, Berta reads out size, brand and DOT code. This saves you from typing in the often hard-to-read markings by hand.
A tread-depth estimate from the photo is deliberately only rough and is always reviewed by you. For safety-relevant decisions, don't rely on the estimate alone – measure directly if in doubt.
Are my scan photos stored?
No. The tire scan photos are not stored permanently. Berta uses the photo only to read the values; afterwards, your tire record keeps only the data you confirmed.
How do I keep track of tire swaps?

How do I add a new tire set?
You add a tire set either manually or with the sidewall scan. For the scan you photograph the tire flank; Berta reads out size, brand and DOT code and suggests them to you. You review the suggestions, add the season and status, and save the set. If needed, you create several sets – for example one each for summer and winter – and so keep track of which set is currently fitted.
Why is managing tires worth it?
